GO OUTSIDE!
Look around your house, then make sure to leave some food and water by the door where he/she could have possibly got out from. Then also look around the neighborhood, make sure to check houses that have other pets since the smell and scents of others can attract their attention and guide them to a unfamiliar place where they might feel unsafe and scared
Don't go blaming others and understand that it is a natural instinct for animals to want to explore. It doesn't mean they were unhappy. Don't blame yourself if you have given love and attention to your pet!
Now a days mostly everyone is in social media, so the first thing you should do is reach out to anyone you know. Specially the ones who live close to you or are familiar with you pet. Make sure to print posters and go around the area, while doing this you might even find your pet!
If your Pet hasnt come back then dont give up after 48 hours, look for them!
call his or her name around your home, take your car and explore the area. As an owner you should know your pets personality so allow that knowledge to help you predict where he/she could be!
Call animal
Leave a shirt or personal item ( clothing works best ) that might have your scent outside your property ( garage, front yard , backyard ) this will be a guide for your pet to distinguish your home from all the other scents that are around them
